Vision
To develop independent orbital launch capability in Canada and enable participation in the global space economy.
Mission
To build and deliver orbital launch capability and supporting infrastructure from Canada, enabling reliable and cost-effective access to space for commercial, scientific, and government missions.
The Opportunity
Global demand for launch services is increasing as satellite deployment accelerates and governments prioritize sovereign access to space. Despite a strong space sector, Canada lacks independent orbital launch capability, creating a strategic gap within the global market. In parallel, existing providers are near capacity, with long wait times for launch availability, reflecting an estimated global shortfall of ~11,700 tonnes of payload (~800 medium-class rockets)¹.
Our Approach
LUNR Aerospace is pursuing a phased and disciplined approach to advancing launch capability, progressing from early-stage systems toward full orbital launch capability and supporting infrastructure. The company is focused on simplicity of design, efficient development, and scalable system architecture, while supporting the development of sovereign launch capability and infrastructure in Canada. The company is actively engaged in the evolving regulatory framework for space launch in Canada and is participating in discussions related to national space policy development.

In-house engine and propulsion architecture, supporting a simplified and scalable approach to launch system design.
Commercial Strategy
LUNR Aerospace intends to provide both dedicated and rideshare launch services, enabling multiple customers to share payload capacity within a single launch. This approach is designed to reduce cost per kilogram to orbit and expand access to space for a broader range of customers. Target customers include government and defense agencies, commercial satellite operators, research institutions, and international mission partners seeking reliable, responsive, and sovereign access to orbit.
LUNR-01 is being developed to deliver Canada’s first sovereign orbital launch capability. It directly supports Budget 2025’s $182.6 million commitment to sovereign space launch and the February 2026 Defence Industrial Strategy, which designates space launch as one of ten core sovereign capabilities. As the only G7 nation without independent orbital access, Canada gains a strategic edge through LUNR’s domestic platform.
